THE JOY OF ANALOGUE: THE SEWING SAILOR STATIONERY CLUB

A Little More Paper, A Little Less Screen: Welcome to The Sewing Sailor Stationery Club

Rediscovering the joy of real letters, beautiful paper, original artwork and little moments of happiness in an increasingly digital world.

There is something magical about opening your letterbox and finding something that isn't a bill, an advertisement or another piece of paperwork.

Something unexpected. Something beautiful. Something that has been thoughtfully created, wrapped and sent just for you.

In a world where so much of our communication happens through screens, I've found myself longing for those little analogue moments that make everyday life feel a little more special.

The pleasure of holding a beautifully illustrated greeting card in your hands. The joy of getting lost in the pages of a real book. The simple happiness of finding a piece of art that makes you smile every time you walk past it.

These are the little things I wanted to celebrate when I created

 The Sewing Sailor Stationery Club.

Bringing a Little Analogue Joy Back into Our Lives

Don't get me wrong, I love how technology allows us to stay connected with people all around the world.

But sometimes I wonder whether, in making everything faster and more convenient, we've lost a little of the magic along the way.

Think about the last time you received a handwritten greeting card.

Perhaps you recognised the handwriting on the envelope before you even opened it. Perhaps someone had taken a moment out of their busy day to choose a beautiful card, write a few thoughtful words and send it to you.

It probably made you smile. For me it was a postcard from Wimbledon from my husband. Unexpected, full of love, written by him. I felt like he was there with me, and it brought tears to my eyes.

An email can be read and forgotten in seconds, buried beneath dozens of other messages. But a real card? That might find its way onto your mantelpiece, your bedside table or into a little box of treasured memories.

It has a presence. It has a story. And somehow, it feels a little more personal.

That's the kind of feeling I want to bring back.

The set includes a light green greeting card, a kraft paper envelope, a printed invitation card with text, a bookmark, and twine with a wax seal, arranged on a white background.

So, What Exactly Is The Sewing Sailor Stationery Club?

The Stationery Club is my way of sharing a little piece of my creative world with you every month.

I wanted the Stationery Club to feel like more than simply receiving a parcel. I wanted it to feel like a little ritual. A moment to slow down, put your phone aside, open an envelope and enjoy something tangible.

Something you can touch, use, display, share or treasure.

You might even find yourself looking forward to checking the letterbox again!

The club is also a lovely way to build your own collection of illustrated stationery and mini artworks over time, or to share a thoughtful surprise with someone who appreciates the beauty of paper and handmade creativity.

Each collection begins with a theme, inspired by nature, the changing seasons, fascinating creatures, little discoveries and the beautiful details we sometimes overlook.

I paint the illustrations in watercolour and carefully bring them together into an exclusive collection of stationery.

Every monthly envelope contains:

A mini art print: A little piece of artwork to frame, display or treasure.

An illustrated greeting card: To send a thoughtful message or keep for yourself.

A beautiful bookmark: To accompany you on your next literary adventure.

A story card: Sharing the inspiration, details and little discoveries behind that month's collection.

Every month brings a different theme, so there's always something new to look forward to.

And because the illustrations are created especially for the club, each collection feels like a little discovery of its own.

A Greeting Card That Means Something

One of my favourite things about stationery is that it creates opportunities for connection. A beautiful greeting card doesn't need a birthday, an anniversary or a special occasion.

Sometimes the most meaningful message is simply: I was thinking of you.

Imagine surprising an old friend with a handwritten note, sending a few encouraging words to someone who needs them, or slipping a little card into a loved one's bag.

A simple gesture can brighten someone's entire day. Every morning I snuggle a small card into my son's school bag and you can be sure that he always comments on it, when he comes back home. He even wrote me a Mother's Day poem mentioning it 😊

And even if you can't bear to part with your illustrated card, that's perfectly fine too! I've always believed that beautiful stationery deserves to be enjoyed, whether it's sent to someone special or kept as a little treasure of your own.

The Quiet Pleasure of a Real Book

Then there's the bookmark. I know, I know. We can carry an entire library around on our phones these days.

But there is something wonderfully comforting about a real book.

The gentle rustle of turning pages. The feel of paper beneath your fingers. Finding a cosy corner, making yourself a cup of tea and disappearing into another world for a little while.

No notifications. No endless scrolling. Just you and a story. And every time you open your book, there's a little piece of art waiting to greet you.

A Little Piece of Art for Your Everyday Life

Art doesn't always need to be grand or displayed in an enormous frame.

Sometimes a small painting, thoughtfully placed on a shelf, beside a favourite photograph or above a little desk, can bring just as much joy.

Every Stationery Club envelope includes a mini art print featuring one of my original watercolour illustrations.

A little piece of nature, colour and creativity to brighten a corner of your home.

Perhaps you'll frame it. Perhaps you'll create a small gallery wall as your collection grows. Or perhaps you'll simply lean it against a stack of favourite books.

There's no right or wrong way to enjoy art.

I love the thought that something I've painted in my studio might find its way into someone's home on the other side of the world, becoming part of their everyday surroundings.

That's a rather beautiful connection, don't you think?

A Little Story, A Little Discovery

I've always believed that the natural world is full of fascinating stories, if only we take a moment to notice them.

That's why every Stationery Club envelope also includes a beautifully illustrated story card, dedicated to the theme of that month's collection.

Perhaps it's a bird with an extraordinary talent, a flower with a surprising history, or a plant with a curious little secret. Alongside my watercolour illustrations, I'll share interesting facts, little discoveries and snippets of knowledge about the subjects that inspired the artwork.

I love the idea that each envelope brings not only something beautiful to look at, but also something new to learn. A tiny piece of knowledge to tuck away, share with a friend or simply smile about.

Because curiosity is a wonderful thing, and sometimes even the smallest discoveries can make our everyday world feel a little more magical.
